Quotes can have such a powerful impact of how we view ourselves and the world. It can inspire us to do great things or bring back some distant memories or emotions from the past.
I’ve been a daily quote reader since 2012. Every year since 2012, my taste of quotes has change. As you can guess, 2016 has certainly been the year of the travel quotes!
“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tzu
This quote can relate to a lot things in life. Wanting to start a business but don’t know how? Or is it to be in the best shape of your life? Just take the first step.
But since this is a travel blog, lets relate it to that! Wanting to go travel but never gone anywhere before or none of your friends/family wants to go with you? Just take the first step.
Buy that plane ticket to your dream destination. Feel the fear of going alone and go. Do your research to get an idea of where the dangerous spots are and then plan your route. But before all that, you got to take that first step and buy that plane ticket. Everything else will follow.
Without the ticket, there’s always an excuse to not go and your journey will never begin.
“I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” – Mark Twain
From traveling with one other person to a group of 10, I now understand that who you travel with, can make the difference with having a amazing trip to an okay trip. The size of the group also has a big impact on this.
Back home, you only see your friends for a few hours then would go your separate ways for the day. While traveling, especially if you’re sharing a room with them, you’re basically with them all day. You get see what their daily habits are and they get see what your habits are.
One personal experience I had was blaming. Blaming the other person for leading you in the wrong direciton and missing the show can have a bad affect on the relationship between you two. I got to say, this ruins my trip imediately.
However, if you do go with someone that understands that traveling can be stressful at times and instead of blaming each other, find solutions that both parties can go along with, I truly believe your relationship with this person can grow much deeper.
In one of my books, I read that people are either a 1 minute person, one day person, one week person, or a one month person. This means in each of these category, that’s the max time you should be spending with that person.
Are you traveling a whole month with someone that is on your one day list or one month list?
I believe that these two quotes can relate with most people in the world. How was your experience buying your first plane ticket ever and how that one single step has turn your life into a journey or how traveling with a friend either created a distant between you two or created a deeper meaningful relationship that you never thought it could go.
